In The Middle of Difficulty…

I find myself in the middle of a difficult period of my life.

Others tell me that opportunities lie just  around the corner.

I want to believe that, hold onto that thought, take it inside and embrace it.

It is not the easiest thing to do,

And I know that there is next to nothing I can do at this moment to make anything happen.

Everything stops at this time of year,

For thoughts are on gatherings and gift giving and days off;

Of eating, of cheering on your team, of taking a nap, of cleaning up…

So, with patience, I must wait past the season, to begin again.

Renew the search, and hope for the best.

For, there does lie opportunity, harmony, and hopefully simplicity…

It’s just on hold, for a week or two.

My wish for you:

That if you’ve been searching for something, that it comes your way, and soon…

and that it is all you had hoped it would be, if not more so.

  1. ((((Hug)))) It’s hard to enjoy the season when it’s underpinned by anxiety and difficulties. Still, I hope that you find moments of peace and happiness over the next week or so. 🙂 Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you many opened doors.

  2. Thanks for the hug. I’m hoping for the same for the new year. Let 2013 be a better year. I know I’ll have peace and happiness this week. 🙂

  3. Hang in there, my friend. The storm will pass soon. One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE thoughts when I see someone riding through a challenge is this:
Everything will be alright in the end and if it’s not alright then it isn’t the end.

I know! I know! It’s the last thing you want to hear because you’re going through a storm and you don’t need platitudes at the moment. You may not even believe it. I bet however if you look back at previous challenges you’ve faced once you’ve cleared the hurdles at least at some point you can say:
“Ahhh! So that’s why that happened. So this could happen.”

All I can say is hold onto whatever you can count on, be it friends, be it family, be it faith or all three or some combination of the three. Whatever you’re facing, Stuart, whatever you’re going through, it is making you stronger. I honestly believe that whatever divine force you put your faith in, be it, God, be it a Higher Power, be it the Universe, whatever.

It/He will never give us more than we can handle. If you have many challenges or one monumental hurdle it just means that you are stronger than you understand.

Be well, Stuart and know you have people who you can reach out too.

  4. I know how difficult it can be to be between “assignments”, and how important it is to not give up. You can’t force things to happen, but must be vigilant: sometimes we’re expecting something to come in via the front door and it’s knocking on a window.
